Ronald Richard "Ron" Seljan, Jr., age 61, passed away on October 8, 2025, in Munster, Indiana. Born on April 30, 1964, in Hammond, Indiana, Ron lived a life full of passion—for his family, friends, and pets.

A proud graduate of Indiana University, Ron combined his entrepreneurial spirit with his love for food to create a thriving business. As the owner of Jumbo's Shrimp and Seafood, he opened several locations throughout northwest Indiana.

Ron was a devoted husband to his wife Kerri Seljan and a proud father to his son Tyler Seljan. His love for family extended beyond his immediate household; he shared close bonds with Shanna and Andy Ryan, his niece and nephew-in-law; mother-in-law Sherry Norman; his brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws; as well as several nieces and nephews. He remained deeply connected to those around him—cherishing lifelong friendships from childhood through adulthood, maintaining ties with colleagues, bowling league companions, and many of his beloved customers.

Athletics were a defining part of Ron's life. A multisport athlete during his high school years, he carried that competitive spirit into adulthood. He was an avid golfer and an accomplished bowler who achieved the rare feat of a perfect score in league play. Ron also gave back to the sports community by coaching wrestling at Gavit High School—a role he took great pride in. A true sports enthusiast, Ron was especially passionate about Chicago teams.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents Ronald and Sharon Seljan; maternal grandparents William and Lola Morgan; paternal grandparents Andrew and Emily Seljan; as well as his father-in-law William Greg Norman and nephew Scott O'Brien.

Ron's legacy lives on through the lives he touched—with kindness, loyalty, and humor. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held on November 8, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 04:00 PM at the Maywood Civic Club. Located at 921 169th street, Hammond, IN.
